Adapted by Kemp Powers from his acclaimed play, Regina King’s feature-length directorial debut is a fictional retelling of one night in 1964, when Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown gathered and grappled with their places within the sweeping change of the civil rights movement. Darryl introduces the screening at Amherst Cinema with a focus on music in a talk entitled “The Music of One Night”.
