The Onus features Darryl Harper (clarinet/leader), Matthew Parrish (bass), and Harry “Butch” Reed (drums). The ensemble, which spent its formative years in Baltimore, has been together for over 20 years and has garnered recognitions for best album of the year for two of its releases. Its 2012 album, The Edenfred Files (Hipnotic), was featured on National Public Radio’s “Fresh Air” with Terry Gross. The band is joined by Baltimorean bass clarinetist/composer and Baker Artist Award winner Todd Marcus.
